Support
Something not right? Tell us.
Study Stash is made in the open, on GitHub. That's where to ask a question, report a problem or suggest something, and where you can see what's being worked on.
Report a problem
Open an issue: what you did, what happened, and what you expected.
Ask or suggest
Search the issues first: someone may have asked already.
A security problem
Report it privately, not in a public issue. You'll get a reply within a week.
What helps
- Your version, from Study Stash's Settings, and whether it's a Mac or Windows.
- One computer or two, and which one the problem is on: the laptop or the library.
- What you saw: the exact words of a message, or a screenshot.
- Never your notes, recordings, passwords or codes. Issues are public. Blur anything personal in a screenshot.
Worth trying first
- Update. In Settings, click Update now. Only the newest release gets fixes.
- Can't open it on a Mac? The first time, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
- "Windows protected your PC"? Click More info, then Run anyway.
- The laptop can't find the library? Check the library's computer is on, awake and running Study Stash, and, away from home, that Tailscale is connected on both.
- Phone app trouble? The phone guide covers the usual ones.
- Notes not being written? Check the engine in Settings → Your library → AI engines: it says when one isn't installed, signed in or running.
